New Brescia Hospital

Politecnica has won first place in the international competition for the new Main and Children Hospital in Brescia.

The new complex, developed together with Park Associati, CRA Carlo Ratti Associati, Openfabric, Dotdotdot, Eckersley O'Callaghan and Studio Mattioli, brings together care, research, landscape and urban life in a new vision of the contemporary hospital.

The project applies the principles of One Health: it reinterprets the historic layout of Brescia's Spedali Civili and transforms it into an open, accessible and resilient system, capable of connecting human health, environment, community and technological innovation.

The CareRing, a continuous green infrastructure of over one kilometre, will wrap around the development, organising mobility, logistics and public spaces, bringing the landscape to the heart of the care experience.

A 60,500 sqm project that defines a new healthcare ecosystem for the city: flexible, sustainable and geared towards people's wellbeing.
