Demerara Bridge, Guyana: work in progress

Construction work proceeds smoothly for the New Demerara Bridge in Guyana to be completed in 2024. Politecnica will be contracted to supervise the construction and help the Ministry of Public Works in project review, and project management.

The bridge, the only connection between east and west banks of the Demerara River will be 2.6 km long, with: four lanes with double carriageways and a 2.65 km cycle lane. This important infrastructure is designed to have a lifespan of 100 years, which is possible thanks to high-tech construction technology.

The new bridge will become a symbol for the Nation, promoting national development and economic growth.
