Event: 26 November 2020
Politecnica joined the digital workshop “MeRIT 2020 – A multidisciplinary approach to embrace complexity and sustainability” promoted by Università Cattolica del Sacro and Politecnico di Milano.
The aim of the event was to investigate the multiple aspects of Large Engineering Projects from different points of view and with the contribution of different disciplines: engineering, economics, business organization, human resource management, jurisprudence, sociology, sustainability, complexity, etc..
Enea Sermasi, Head of International Business Development, together with Barbara Frascari, BIM Manager and partner of Politecnica, brought the experience of the Galliera Hospital Project in Genoa to highlight how important the relationship between BIM technology and Project Management activities is in the realization of large and complex projects.
The “circular” approach adopted by Politecnica, in which Project Management techniques guided the BIM activities and, at the same time, BIM tools were used simultaneously to support the Project Management activities to ensure compliance with project requirements, regulation and cost constrains by means of auto-mated checking activities ad virtual simulations, proved to be fundamental in dealing with the complexity of the project and solving its main problems.
