New Vertical Forest of Riccione by Stefano Boeri Architetti

5 September 2019

Urban forestation and regeneration are the founding objectives of the new project to enhance the seafront of Riccione.

Stefano Boeri Architetti, Politecnica, Studio Laura Gatti, Nomisma and AIRIS sign, thanks to the Operative Agreement shared between public and private authority, the design concept of the new “vertical forest” promoted by the Municipality of Riccione and Ernesta Srl.

The area of the former Riccione dolphinarium will become a new vertical ecosystem that, developing from the horizontal nature of the Villa Ernesta park and its recovery, will embrace the entire area, guaranteeing the containment of land consumption – 22% of the built area – and the continuity of the environmental system.

The use of renewable energy sources and the inclusion of 1,400  square meters of green close the loop of sustainability, ensuring maximum well-being and comfort while respecting the environment and the community.
