New Trieste Sea Museum by Vázquez Consuegra

13 December 2019

The project, signed by Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra and Politecnica in partnership with, Cooprogetti, Consilium, Mads & Associati, Re.Te, F. Lambertucci, M. Endrizzi e SGM Consulting, provides for the renovation of the building “Magazzino 26” of the Old Port of Trieste.

The new Museum Centre will occupy an area of 8.500 square metres and will be reconnected to the rest of the city life through the creation of a new public bulevard. The new Promenade, thanks to the inclusion in succession of important finds of national nautical history, will become the starting point of the entire tour route.

Inside the building, important interventions to protect and enhance the existing spaces will create new exhibition paths with a strong multimedia approach. The new Beacon and augmented reality technologies, applied to storytelling, will allow 360° accessibility and sensorial involvement throughout the entire museographic experience.

A new important challenge that we are proud to undertake, happy to contribute to the urban regeneration of an important part of city today little used.
