A project of art, culture and sustainability: this year, during Design Week 2023, Politecnica & Fondazione Targetti present “The Tale of Light“. Politecnica opens its headquarter in Milan, Via Della Moscova 12, to host 16 light works from Fondazione Targetti’s Art Light Collection.
The Collection
The Art Light Collection is a unique collection. It was born from the idea of the former President Paolo Targetti to demonstrate that technological innovations do not use exclusively for functional purposes, but can be translated into artistic expression. In the 2000s, Paolo Targetti created a new international competition every two years, open to everybody on a web platform. The only limits: the size 120×120 and the theme: LIGHT.
Over the years, more than 3,000 projects have been collected in which artists explore the possibility of a third dimension of light that becomes a vehicle of expression and suggestion. The winners came from all over the world, were selected and awarded by a jury composed of museum directors, journalists, critics, curators and collectors.
The 16 artworks exhibited at Politecnica’s Milan headquarter were selected for the message that they evoke, reminding us that life is fragile, beautiful, full of challenges but always able to amaze and make us look over appearances, bringing us in front of the reality that beauty and harmony are universal and timeless messages that can save everyone.
Exhibition
Installations created by artists from all over the world as Fabrizio Corneli, Brigitte Kowanz, Aleksandra Stratimirovich will remain exhibited until September 2023.
