The Trieste Sea Museum begins the process of being completed

At ”Warehouse 26” in the Old Port, works have begun for the construction of the Trieste Sea Museum. The building, which will be completed in the autumn of 2025, includes restoration work to preserve and valorise the 19th-century port architecture.

The building’s entrance overlooking the sea receives visitors in a large space in which the bookshop, ticket office and visitor centre are located. The museum tour develops from top to bottom, covering the three levels of the structure. An ex-novo part will be built on top of the third floor, where the panoramic ‘Mirador’ restaurant with the view over the sea and the city of Trieste.

The entire project was developed by an international team, led by architect Guillermo Vazquez Consegrua together with Politecnica, Consilium, Trieste companies, SGM Consulting, MADS & ASSOCIATI, Cooprogetti, Re.Te. and also Filippo Lambertucci Monica Endrizzi. Edilcustruzioni, specialised in the recovery and restoration of cultural heritage, will be responsible for the execution of the works.
