The Project
The regeneration of the former AMCM area is an exemplary case of partnership, in which public objectives and entrepreneurial visions have intertwined, unleashing the potential of a place that is both challenging and fascinating.

The area, with its cultural stratifications of the distant past and of the more recent one, represents in fact a precious opportunity for the city of Modena to rethink itself starting from its roots. The regenerated AMCM will intertwine contemporary ways of living and experiencing the city, renewed cultural, sports and entertainment offers, quality services and high standards of sustainability.
Citizens and tourists will find at the AMCM public places dedicated to various forms of culture: an itinerary will give space to street arts, already very present in the area, a square with flexible furnishings will host exhibitions, shows or fairs. And then theatres, workshops and a new lounge for the summer cinema, in an entirely pedestrian area that enhances the historic buildings brought back to life.

Students coming out of the new gym, professionals on their lunch break, grandparents with children looking for safe spaces for play, young people who want to sit freely to meet outside their homes, commuters looking for a bike to reach the historic centre, actors and directors on break between rehearsals: everyone will find their own space in the new Creativity Park area ex AMCM.

The entire regeneration project of Politecnica is developed to encourage green areas and soft mobility. Instead of the asphalt of the car park there will be flowerbeds and pools with hedges and trees to shade and ventilate squares and paths, bicycles will be able to move freely with ramps and dedicated spaces and access by public transport will be facilitated by a new stop. Finally, the use of photovoltaic systems, geothermal energy and green facades will increase the environmental sustainability of the entire project.
The residents of the area will find an innovative, pleasant and quality neighbourhood supermarket, offices, surgeries, restaurants, while in the heart of the area the new gym with a high level of sustainability, designed for basketball championships, but also suitable for volleyball, rhythmic and artistic gymnastics, will be the pulsating and dynamic heart of the sector, with important views of the public space and the monumental heritage of the area.

From the interweaving of history, development and culture comes the new AMCM: a space to live, to meet, to discover and experiment, reinterpreting what was and will once again be the true energy production centre of the city.
