The Project
The design of the area includes the new Mental Health Centre with night hospital service and day centre, together with the new SERT, which was based on the projection of a welcoming atmosphere, while also being recognisable, benefiting both users and the city itself. The overall form of the external appearance is derived from the presence of two buildings, one new and one already existing, which had to interact with one other and provide an important point of reference for the community.
The general aim was to improve the existing situation, particularly with regard to the entrance and routes available to the users for access to the structure, while also giving due consideration to the daily routes that operators have to take in the context of their work.
The “new façade” that looks onto the city is represented by the overhanging structure forming the first floor of the SERT, given that the view of the current Mental Health Centre will remain relatively filtered by the existing vegetation.
This building located is located close to Via Missiroli divides into two and will distinguish the entrance which will benefit from a covered part protected from bad weather.
