The Project
The building forms part of the Modena Polyclinic university hospital, co-ordinating with the volumes and functions already present and providing spaces designed for the proper and unrestricted conduct of teaching and support activities involved in medical training in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.
The entrance to the building is positioned along the covered passageway, featuring wide glass doors which, in addition to giving access, also provide light for the entrance hall.
The ground floor houses lecture rooms of differing sizes, meeting and seminar rooms and the related clusters of facilities. Access can be obtained to the great central conference hall (with seating for about 560 people) from the same floor, which has raked, stepped seating allowing it to be accessed on two levels, one on the ground floor, the other from the first floor where the foyer is situated.

Access on the first floor is obtained through two sets of stairs which, located on the two sides of the entrance, connect it with both the basement, where the library is located, and the first floor where, as mentioned above, the foyer and the seminary and study rooms can be found.
The conference hall can be divided to reduce the space when meetings with a smaller number of participants are to be held there.
