The redevelopment of Fortezza da Basso runs through the Cavaniglia Pavilion

Approved the executive project of Cavaniglia Pavilion in Florence, this is part of the Fortezza da Basso restoration plan and represents an important step in the redevelopment of the trade fair centre.

The project of the 3,600 square metre, developed by Politecnica together with Stefano Boeri Architetti, Consilium, arch. Maria Di Benedetto, arch. Vincenzo Vaccaro, arch. Lorenzo Vallerini, is not just functional, but also ecological. The focus on this topic is through the inclusion of roof gardens and terraces, which represents a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, always more relevant in urban design.

The idea of making the pavilion a place accessible everyday, not only for trade fair events, suggests an innovative and inclusive approach, a meeting place for citizens, to participate of rebirth and enhancement of the site.
