A new change. Over the past year, the world has experienced one of the main epidemics in its modern history – the Covid-19 pandemic – an unprecedented event with a deep health, economic and social global impact. Our lives have changed dramatically, as has our relationship with spaces, from urban, shared and outdoor spaces to work and home. Today a new change is on the horizon, a new reconstruction of our future, a true sustainable development that has become even more urgent because of the pandemic.
The future

The health, social and economic emergency caused by Covid-19 has accelerated the change of urban contexts and the way we live in our homes, workplaces and public spaces.

In 2020, Politecnica’s People were confronted with a change that is leading to different needs in conceiving physical spaces and modes of use than we are traditionally used to.
Our
SDGs projects
The Global Agenda for Sustainable Development (2030 Agenda), ratified during the UN summit in September 2015 by 193 countries, brings together the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), broken down into 169 targets. The SDGs are designed as a continuation of the Millennium Development Goals, which were defined in 2000 by the United Nations.
Politecnica wants to contribute to the achievement of 6 of these objectives, which have at their heart the well-being of the human community by designing people-friendly works.

2020
The year 2020 completes the three-year period of Politecnica’s 2018-2020 business plan, whose objectives have been fully achieved, and confirms the consolidation of our Company.
Road
to 2030
We have chosen to contribute to the achievement of the goals of the UN 2030 Agenda and outlined a roadmap of specific initiatives to pursue sustainable development, drawing inspiration from all those issues that have a direct impact on people’s well-being and social development.

The ultimate goal of an infrastructure is to connect peoples and communities.
15 infrastructures in Italy and in developing countries designed in the last 2 years where every choice made by our designers can have a significant social impact. It is necessary to understand the needs of those who will use the works and to listen to the communities. A value that goes beyond technology.

Co-design makes projects rooted in communities and more resilient in the long term.
11 co-design activities with more than 30 public and private stakeholders over the last 3 years. The definition of an action plan shared with the communities of the places where we operate is fundamental in urban regeneration initiatives. Collaborating with those who know the territorial opportunities and problems allows us to design while respecting their identity and enhancing their social and cultural aspects over time.
